The First General Meeting of the
White Lake Friends

The first General Meeting for the White Lake Friends on January 25th was a success. The number of folks present (30 in all) and the energy and enthusiasm were great. Those present made a list of things they would like to see this group concentrate on accomplishing. 

If you are interested in working on one of these projects/areas of interest, email me with your contact information. thawley022@gmail.ccm  We hope to have small groups begin working very shortly. 

Membership Development Committee

• Increase memberships - HOA, Homeowners groups

Marketing and Communications Committee

• Offer membership information to rentals - material on joining WLF to all who come to the lake for a day, a week, a month, or a lifetime.

• Join the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce

• Jamie with 50K followers will post

• Teri - online information on the website, FB group, and email list

• Rules for boating - find ways to post these for the people who use the lake

• Attendance at Town Council and recognition - marketing our name!

Projects and Programs Committee

• Develop a plan for water clarity

• White Lake Museum (sell merchandise)/Need building

•  Offer Swim/Ski lessons

• Summer camp for kids on the flora and fauna of our Carolina Bay

• Gathering historical data - ie. has the usage of the lake changed with the lack of clarity?

• The entire walking path with educational kiosks on the road and the water

• Pickleball courts/recreation area

• Booth to share about the group with educational information
